In August 2019 Unicars announced the sponsorship of three top-level female Cypriot athletes, members of the Cyprus Olympic qualification team. The 2-year sponsorship plan supports the track and field athlete Nektaria Panagi, Taekwondo athlete Kyriaki Kouttouki and the cycling champion Andria Christoforou.

Last week Unicars launched their “Driving Your Sports Stories” video campaign, with no less than 15 short videos appearing on its social media. The videos present the daily lives of the Cypriot champions it supports, their evolution into the athletes they are today and the challenges they face to balance the requirements of a high-level athletes’ life with the needs of a normal person.

Andria Christoforou is supported through the Skoda brand of cars that Unicars is the sole distributor in Cyprus. Skoda is a household name in Cycling supporting some of the best cycling races in the world, such as the Tour de France. Skoda Cyprus, besides Andria Chistoforou, also supports the Cyprus Sunshine Epic mountain bike stage race and the Cyprus Gran Fondo cycling for all stage race.

Andria, who is also supported by OPAP Cyprus, Medochemie, EKO, Arizona drinks, Cyclo Shop, the Optik Co. and Garmin, is flying out this week to Spain, for her first training camp of the season. In Valencia, she will meet her new team, Burgos Alimenta Women Cycling Sport team, get the chance to know her new teammates, test the new equipment and get the first racing km of the season under her belt.
